About the Author
JAMES R. RESKE
I grew up in a Christian home and gave my life to Christ at age 14. I have been involved in discipleship ministries since high school. But I didn’t really start to understand the Gospel until I was in my 30’s, when my wife and I attended Tim Keller’s church in New York City. Even then, it took a long time for the basics of the Gospel to sink in. It was like a slow-motion paradigm shift. While I’m still learning about what the Gospel means, with the Fishtail Illustration, the initial Gospel paradigm shift would only have taken a few minutes.
Professionally, I am a “recovering” Georgetown-educated lawyer-turned-investment banker, and I now serve a midwestern community bank as their Chief Financial Officer. I’m not a professional author, but if I have a contribution to make, it’s bridging worlds: communicating complex financial concepts to a wide range of audiences, often through the creative use of graphics. The Fishtail Illustration is a natural outgrowth of this experience, expressing all of the implications of the Gospel in a simple, easy-to-communicate illustration.
